Story Acting/Cast Music Rewatch Value Okay, first of all, I mainly started this drama after being recommended by a friend. At that time my mind was seriously blown up by Song Joong Ki's acting in A Werewolf Boy, so I guess I would just give this a try. As its name states, this drama differs from other medical dramas as it strongly focuses on that two particular fields- obstetrics and gynecology. Each episode consists of one or two cases and every case featured is different from each other. If we talk about emotion dealing with mothers and babies, this drama excellently conveys that. Almost every single episode will not fail to make you tear up. It doesn't just open up audience's eyes to how these fields work, but also the sacrifice done by the parents and not to forget, of how annoying mothers-in-law can be; they just deteriorate the pure images of being mothers and I would be seriously upset if that really reflects on the reality. Being such a serious drama, having some romance being slipped into is such a relieve, so I really love the love story of Joong Ki and his nurse girlfriend. They are just so innocently cute- it feels like there are suddenly bubbles, butterflies and scent of cotton candies whenever they are on the screen 3 However, the main couple is a pure failure. I like them, but not as a couple. Age gap is not a problem for me, but there is just something lacking between them that I'm not sure of what it is. The actors aren't that familiar but they all did a good job being doctors and nurses- each of them! Not to forget how they really show how the surgeries go and the usage of 'real' organs; that just amuse me because not that many medical drama actually show that. Music- there is a song I remember which goes like..you're my everything..~ but I don't know the title lol. and I didn't really pay attention to other side background sounds but since they didn't bother me, they must have been added nicely to fit in the situations. It's a must watch for medical drama lovers or anyone who aspires to become a pediatric, gynecologist, etc. Or maybe you just want to take a peek into something new, this would be a good pick! You may not realize it, but if you go to an OB/GYN for your women’s health needs, you’re actually seeing a doctor with two specialities. An obstetrician OB specifically deals with pregnancy and prenatal care, while a gynecologist GYN handles all other issues specific to women. A good majority of women’s doctors do both, but some decide to just focus on obstetrics or gynecology. Continue reading for a more detailed breakdown of the differences between an obstetrician and a gynecologist. As we mentioned, an obstetrician specializes in caring for pregnant women and their unborn babies. They receive special training to spot warnings signs of possible complications that can occur during pregnancy, labor and delivery. They are also skilled in performing c-sections and other interventions when needed. Obstetricians can also help with fertility issues and find the best treatment options for those struggling with infertility. Gynecologist A gynecologist focuses on a woman’s reproductive health when it’s not connected to pregnancy. Gynecologists like to see women at least once a year for checkups and pap smears to look for any potential concerns. They also treat women for issues that are just specific to a woman’s body such as Yeast infections Uterine prolapse Irregular or painful periods Menopause Ovarian cysts Endometriosis Uterine or ovarian cancer Depending on your age and specific needs, you may choose just to see a gynecologist or you may prefer an OB/GYN for more comprehensive care. Medical drama with stories of OBGYN adventures and also some love stories.. It's pleasuring to watch and can gain some good knowledge Both dramas deals with intense and complex medical situations within a hospital setting. They focus on the doctor/patient relationships and the challenges of live matters in regards to the patient, as well as medical decision making for the physicians. Although, OB/GYN has more comedy and romance than Iryu, they are both outstanding medical dramas. Both are hospital settings about doctors that deal with different patients, while emphasizing on their personal lives. Both are medical dramas with an interwoven romance theme. Although this drama don’t really revolve around the same departments. The reason I find them similar is because of the sense of work ensemble and also because well these two dramas didn’t annoyed me too much as a doctor myself. Both drama depicts the difficult decisions and moving human stories that take place daily in the Obstetrician-gynecologist department. Both concentrate on gynecologists and the OB department.
